When people first hear the term BaZi reading, they often assume it is a fortune-telling method from ancient China. That reaction is understandable: BaZi is usually translated as "Eight Characters" and can sound mysterious.

A more practical framing is this: BaZi is not primarily about predicting isolated events. It is about understanding structure.

BaZi is a time-based structural model built on one idea: the moment you are born reflects a specific configuration of time, and that configuration influences how you interact with life.

It does not remove free will. It does not decide your choices. But it does describe a baseline configuration, and that baseline often matters more than people expect.
